Our Distribution team is now looking for a dedicated Warehouse Operative to support the seamless operation of our state-of-the-art hub in Thatcham. As part of the wider Supply Chain function, this role is crucial in maintaining the flow of stock and ensuring our customers continue to experience the magic of Harrods.

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for completing a variety of warehouse tasks with precision and efficiency, including goods receiving, picking, packing and dispatch. You will play a hands-on part in supporting daily operations, ensuring high standards of quality, safety and service are consistently upheld.

Working closely with team members and other departments across the business, you will ensure all stock movements are timely and accurate. You will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying operational efficiencies and supporting positive change within the warehouse environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Receiving, checking and sorting a wide range of products entering the warehouse.
  • Picking, packing and relocating stock across the Distribution Centre using both manual and mechanical methods.
  • Operating equipment such as pump trucks, powered pump trucks and other material handling equipment.
  • Loading and unloading palletised products into or from vehicles.
  • Performing stock checks and maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Inspecting products to ensure they meet quality specifications.
  • Maintaining a clean and organised workspace, upholding health and safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Supporting the team in processing, packaging and shipping orders securely and on time.

You will be working 5 days over 7 on a rota.

Please note this is an active, physically demanding role which involves regular lifting of products up to 25kg and walking long distances throughout the warehouse. Due to working with or near material handling equipment, applicants must be aged 18 or over.

As part of the team at Thatcham, you will also benefit from a heavily subsidised canteen offering breakfast, lunch, dinner and all day snacks, local recognition schemes with £25 prizes, exclusive giveaways, and staff trips to our iconic Knightsbridge store. In addition, Harrods offers a range of company-wide benefits including subsidised medical and dental cover, discounted gym membership, and more.
