Our Engineering and Maintenance team are now looking for a Senior Shift Technician to lead and oversee the operation and maintenance of our critical power systems and equipment, ensuring safety, efficiency, and reliability across all shifts.


About the Role 
As a Senior Shift Technician, you will serve as the key escalation and communication point for our in-house engineering teams. This role involves overseeing both routine and emergency maintenance tasks, managing external contractors, and ensuring safety and compliance across all engineering operations.


In this role you will be responsible for…
•    Functional switching and isolation of High Voltage systems, and maintenance of electrical power installations, generators, boilers, dewatering systems, and other specialist equipment.
•    Supervise and manage external contractors as required, ensuring all work adheres to safety and quality standards.
•    Conduct High Voltage (HV) switching and manage maintenance shutdowns, including nightshift operations.
•    Monitor and maintain water systems, including chemical dosing, water sampling, and metering.
•    Support the management of HV and power systems, maintaining asset registers, and updating the PPM system for planned and reactive maintenance.

This role follows a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern, with 12-hour shifts consisting of 2 days on and 2 nights on. The position requires coverage 365 days a year, including bank holidays and Christmas.


About You 
You are a qualified electrician with a solid understanding of electrical principles and experience. Ideally, you will have experience with generators and HV switching.  You must be confident in communicating with all levels of staff and able to lead a team effectively. Previous experience in a shift lead role is advantageous, and you should be comfortable managing both routine and emergency situations. Strong leadership skills and the ability to stay composed under pressure are crucial.
