Here at Harrods, we have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Digital Designer to join our incredible Creative team to support our designers with the editing of social media assets, digital banners and digital marketing assets across our luxury Harrods portfolio ranging from Fashion, Restaurants, Homeware, Beauty, Tech and much more.
About the Role
You will take the assets from our content team and assist our designers in the creation of templated weekly Instagram stories across 5 channels, using design templates and video editing skills. You will ensure all imagery and type adheres to brand guidelines, being our brand guardian and an exceptional artworker to the team.
Alongside this you will support the Digital Marketing team with the creation of digital banners and digital adverts to delight our online customers.
In this role you will also:
- Produce assets for a multitude of platforms across both organic and paid social, adapting creative style to the various business departments (e.g. fashion, beauty, food).
- Develop skills and knowledge of Adobe After Effects and Figma.
- Work with the templates set out by the design team to produce high-quality Instagram Sto-ries across Harrods’ five Instagram accounts.
- Artwork creative assets for various placements in response to Digital Marketing briefs.
- Stay up-to-date with current digital design trends and best practices to improve skills and bring fresh ideas to the table.
- Keep an eye on Harrods competitors and share inspiration based on market trends in the industry.
- Work with the wider social team to shape design decisions using engagement statistics, ensuring Harrods maintains a competitive edge in the digital space.
About You
You will have an interest and understanding of all digital channels (including social, web and email design), and be willing to turn your hand to any brief no matter how big or small to support the creative team where needed.
You will also have:
- Gained some commercial experience within Digital Design for this entry level role.
- Good knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite particularly Photoshop.
- Experience with After Effects a plus but additional training can be provided on the job.
- Basic knowledge of Figma is a bonus but not essential.
- Basic video editing skills and a keen desire to develop skills in creating motion graphics.
- Excellent attention to detail with a strong eye for typography, imagery and layouts.
- Enthusiasm and understanding of social media platforms and their respective design re-quirements- with a focus on post-production.
- A strong work ethic and a willingness to get involved in supporting the wider design team when required.
