Our Creative Content team have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, dedicated Beauty Writer to join the team on this 12 month fixed term contract, where you will create and craft copy across Harrods’ full channel portfolio.
As an inventive storyteller at heart, you must have a good sense of consumer behaviour and understanding of how to create successful content for a retail customer. You will have expert product knowledge and be bursting with ideas on how to invigorate perennial shopping stories and push the boundaries of trade-first editorial stories.
About the Role
You will be responsible for the creation of both editorial and functional content that responds to the overarching beauty content strategy. This includes digital editorial features across .com and app (considering both copy and imagery), social media captions, on-site copy such as promotional banners and in-store services, alongside digital marketing content that supports the beauty division and its various campaigns.
It also includes supporting the team on magazine content – writing stories and being a point of contact for any copy queries, and other print assets where required. This role does not involve product copy.
You will also:
- Pitch and write editorial for harrods.com, Harrods and H beauty campaigns and brand partnerships that aligns with the digital content strategy and commercial requirements.
- Manage beauty email content, from brief to content creation.
- Write social captions and storyboards for beauty channels.
- Manage and produce site copy for website updates, key internal beauty moments, SEO projects and digital marketing.
- Regularly report on digital content performance and analysing where required.
- Pitch and write stories for Harrods magazine portfolio, supporting the Beauty Editor in the smooth running of the section.
- Maintain good relationships with stakeholders across the business, supporting overall strategies and business priorities with departments including trade, marketing, buying, partnerships and PR.
About You
You will demonstrate relevant experience executing content in line with a clearly defined but regularly evolving strategy and be a true expert in the beauty and wellness space. You must be confident converting industry knowledge and expertise into engaging content, based upon your understanding of consumer behaviour and how to create successful content for a retail customer.
As an integral member to a team that is truly omnichannel, covering all digital and print platforms (including .com, email, app, social media and Harrods magazine), you will be an expert in the different channels, understanding the nuances of each platform and offering relevant creative solutions.
Therefore, you will have:
- Strong knowledge of digital marketing channels and print platforms.
- Strong knowledge of luxury beauty brands and the ever-changing beauty landscape.
- An understanding of the retail landscape, particularly relating to luxury beauty.
- The ability to work on several projects at once, under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Expert copywriting skills and a keen eye for detail.
- An analytical mind: able to analyse data and act upon it.
- Impeccable organisation.
