We are looking for an Accounts Payable Assistant to join our Finance team here at Harrods.

This is a 18 month fixed term contract

About the role

The role reports to the Accounts Payable Assistant Manager. The purpose of the role is to be responsible for the Accounts Payable processes for a designated area of the business. This will include Invoice processing, statement reconciliations, query resolution, debt collection and relationship management.

You will also;

  • Ensure that supplier relationships are maintained through efficient management of the payment process
  • Responsible for ensuring that all invoices are processed within payment terms
  • All discrepancies are communicated to relevant parties – suppliers and buying teams
  • Effective prioritisation of key suppliers to meet the needs of the business
  • Manage debtors to ensure prompt payment to Harrods
  • Ensure that all queries are responded to within agreed timeframes
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements to a satisfaction of both Harrods and the supplier.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on your own

About You

The Accounts Payable Assistant will have strong customer service focus when dealing with both internal and external parties and has the ability to perform duties effectively with minimum supervision and guidance. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as excellent time-management skills and the ability and willingness to multi-task.

You will also have the following;

  • Good PC literacy (word, excel and preferably SAP)
  • Flexibility and readiness to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Good attention to detail which will be evident through keeping mismatched invoices to a minimum and ensuring that queries are handled quickly.
  • Strong work ethic and unwavering commitment to Harrods values.
