Our Store Development team have a rare opening for a Project Manager with Construction experience to join the team. You will have the opportunity to lead multiple high budget projects end-end, working closely with over 300 brands across our ready to wear categories including Menswear, Womenswear, Childrenswear and Shoes.
You will have a varied role juggling a mixture of key projects, from liaising with our largest brand designers and keeping their teams on track, to working with smaller up and coming brands who have taken the world by storm and need your support to get them set up.
About the Role
You will manage multiple projects across our 6-floor story building, it truly is a really exciting time to join as we head into a new phase of exceptional at Harrods. You will have the opportunity to lead projects which will shape the future Harrods we see and love today.
In this role you will…
- Develop and manage briefs from Stakeholders.
- Appointing and directing consultant teams, managing projects as the client representative and delivering from inception to completion.
- Analyse and review schemes presented by designers and architects for Harrods capital funded projects, supplier funded projects and combined funded projects. Effectively facilitate relevant meetings, record proceedings and communicate with tact and clarity to all parties.
- Assist in the development of the Store Planning strategy.
- Be fully aware and implement Health and Safety regulations, Planning and Building Control regulations and all other statutory regulations including CDM.
- Effectively liaise with all user groups within Harrods e.g. Buying Teams, Retail, Store Operations, Security, Fire Safety Department, HIS, Engineers, etc.
- Be an effective and collaborative team member within the wider Store Development team
About You
Due to the technical nature of Harrods structure, knowledge & understanding of architecture, surveying and construction are key to thriving in this role.
You will have a genuine interest in Luxury Fashion retail and be confident liaising with a variety of stakeholders internally and externally. You will be pro-active and always happy driving things forward no matter how big or small.
We are looking for…
- Professionally qualified in a construction related degree, HND or equivalent with a clear understanding of the principles of good design.
- Knowledge & experience of UK Construction Contracts.
- Experience working in a luxury or retail environment is highly beneficial.
- Practically experienced in store planning and project management from inception to completion.
- Able to work with, oversee and steer a design team responsible for project designs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills allied with tact and diplomacy. Highly organised with strong analytical skills.
- Enthusiastic and confident with the determination to get the job done at all costs.
